Firstly, I would really like to thank you for all of these resources, they are really useful. I am a second year A Level AQA geography student who is hoping to study geography at St Andrews. I am really struggling with my 9 markers and can't seem to get above a 4, would you consider doing a post on how to succeed in writing a 9 marker?

Hello Tessa. I'm pleased you find my posts useful. I could do a feature on 9 markers, though it won't be for a week or so. The basic principles are the same as 20 markers, only shorter responses. In the meantime, if you look at my archive and go back into early 2023, you will find several posts entitled AO1 v AO2 , some of which deal with 8, 9 and 12 mark questions, depending on the Board. Hope you get into St Andrew's... it's a fabulous place. My son took me there last year. He lives in Edinburgh, and I thought the town was delightful. David

Thank you so much for your response, yes I am keeping my fingers crossed for St Andrews I need an A for geography. I hope you will be able to post something on the 9 markers. My specific issues are do I need an introduction and conclusion, and how many paragraphs should I include, and what length would an examiner expect? I am so grateful for your insights and appreciate all the resources you have given online. Many thanks.
